Black, White, and Sequins

Dear Diary,

Guess who is back from her hiatus? That’s right! Forgive me for the disappearing act, but I can assure you that it was for a good reason. I have been working on some great things that will be coming to the site. Which brings me to today’s post.  My sister came to visit, and I  found this eye-catching blazer in her suitcase, so I decided to do a post in dedication to the holiday season. This look would be the ideal for your holiday festivities: dinners, parties, out dancing to name a few. It doesn’t always have to be about the sparkly dress, add character with a sequin detail blazer, and track inspired shorts for a sporty look.

Suit Up with Bonobos Men’s Fall 2014 Collection

Dear Diary,

It’s no secret that I am obsessed with menswear. That is why I was ecstatic about teaming up with one of America’s favorite designers to share their 2014 Men’s fall suit lookbook. A new collection of wool suits, tweed blazers, and tuxedos that perfectly complement crisp fall weather, and autumn leaves.  According to Bonobos, this collection was inspired by the early British rock invasion style, before they were all glam rock stars. Mick Jagger before he became known for his moves by jagger, was somewhat of a muse for the line. He was inspiring even as a wee lad. Other bands in their early days such as Kinks, Early Who, and Screaming Lord Sutch played a major role in their early days.

IN BLACK AND WHITE

Dear Diary,

Life is so much better in black and white. Since my attire is achromatic and with no particular details, I decided to make my post black and white. Images look very timeless when color is eliminated, and it shows all emotions in their purest form.

“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”

– Ted Grant

FASHION FOR BREAKFAST AT CECCONI’S WITH THE DRESLYN

Dear Diary,

It’s that Fashion for Breakfast time of the week again!!!! This week’s host of honor was none other than The Dreslyn. It was such a pleasure meeting the CEO, Brooke Taylor Corcia,  and the team behind the online boutique. Brooke is not only a fashion genius, but such a sweetheart. The Dreslyn is such a breath of fresh air for the androgynous spirit. She shared many words of inspiration and also how to  be successful, while staying true to yourself in the fashion industry. I definitely took copious notes 😉

Brunch at the Petrossian Boutique

Dear Diary,

I am such a sucker for food, and that is why I was more than psyched when my friend Faith suggested we have brunch at this restaurant called Petrossian on Roberstson Blvd.  An European influenced restaurant, with an American twist. My meal was excellent, but let me tell you…Their truffle fries? Finger lickin’ good!

NEW LOOKS 758

NEW LOOKS 759

The heat was  unbearable over the weekend.  I cooled off with a basic crop top and a tulle pleated skirt. Always stay away from dark colors  on days like this. You might get melt like the Wicked Witch of the East.

7 DAYS OF PRAY: DAY 6(EASY BREEZY)

Dear Diary,

I know, I know,  I changed my hair again. I get  bored easily, plus I missed  my fro.  Back to our regularly scheduled programming.  I have reached the sixth day of my challenge, can you believe it?? One more day to go. Woop woop!  A  flowy and comfy asymmetric number to battle the heat. The minimal cut and nude tone of the dress allowed me to play with accessories, and  the best part about this dress is the amazing T-strap in the back. It gives it the right amount of sexiness.
