Shades of Denim

Dear Diary,

I spent my saturday watching the most anticipated fight of the season between Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz, only for it to end in less than 20 mins :-O. But all is fair in love and war.

DEN
Meanwhile, I was mixing shades of denim to break up my outfit. This gives your casual look a funky touch without trying too hard. You can’t go wrong with denim considering it has been a fashion staple for decades.

Fashion Night Out

Dear Diary,

Last night was Fashion’s night out. A stylish kickoff to fashion week. It’s the perfect environment to interact with others and also have the opportunity to walk away with some awesome goody bags!
What better way to partake in such an extravaganza than to have a head to toe menswear that creates optical illusions and contrast?

ART WALK

Dear Diary,

If you are based in the Los Angeles area, happen to be visiting, or just simply an art lover, the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk has to be on your list of places to attend! It occurs the second Thursday of every month from Noon -9p.m. The showcasing and celebration of the best artists, their galleries, photography and music. Not forgetting the amazing food trucks and restaurants  Downtown also has to offer.  However, what i found more exhilarating is the crowd. A diverse group of people with quirky style and explosive personalities mingling with one another, is what made this event worth my while.

Street Style

Dear Diary,

Is it tacky to show your bra through a transparent number? Not the way Drucilla executed it.
The color black, the gathered mid waist and the  A-line silhouette gives the dress that safe touch.
I love how she went with a black bra underneath, instead of other color options, which would have drawn way more attention to her chest area. Oh and don’t forget the shoes, they always play a major role in an outfit. Her peep toe flats also keep the whole look nice and simple. And can i just say, this lovely American Apparel manager had me running to the store to purchase the dress after seeing how well she nailed the  outfit!!

Hope you all adore her as much as i do.
xoxo!!

June/July Fever

Dear Diary,

My apologies for the lack of updates. The last 2 months for me have been filled with nothing but excitement and the company of some of my loved ones . My upcoming postings will show you how it all went down…
My girl Chinwe came from London to celebrate my birthday as well as hers, and may i just say she is a styleesta herself. Shout out to all cancers by the way, woop woop!! ^_^

Street Style

Dear Diary,

Street Style is self expression. The ability to let your clothes tell a story about who you are, and the comfort you feel in an outfit rather than succumbing to seasonal trends. There are loadz of style heads out there, and I decided why not take photos of eye catchy people to share with you guys? 🙂
I met this handsome poet outside of the UCLA Jazz Reggae Festival, and I was really digging his laid-back look. I like how he paired his blazer with a striped tunic, and brogue shoes. And tell me you agree with me when I say,his pants rolled up to keep it less formal was a great idea! It gives his look that oomph factor.

Hope everyone had an awesome weekend!

Fashion Rebel -Mixed Prints

Dear Diary,

During my Boston stay, my sister and i went for a stroll in the Charles River Park. The scenery is filled with profound bliss!! I took numerous photos, and totally forgot how much time had gone by. It’s very easy to get lost in your thoughts out there.

Lady vs. Androgyny

Dear Diary,

My apologies for all the slacking in blog posts. My older sister just graduated from law school  in Boston woop woop!! And trust me…it is very easy to forget about your other priorities, when celebrating with family and friends lol. Oh and major shout out to the class of 2011; high school, undergrad and masters program. I will soon post photos from the festivities, but for the time being here are a few of me. Enjoy!

For the graduation i wanted to have a classic ladylike look and wear a tapered over the
knee dress. The thing about long tapered dresses is…they can be very boring! So i decided
to keep the front simple, add layered pipes, and a cut out detail to the back of the dress
for that “WOW” factor. My court pumps are from Zara.

I wore this jumpsuit  to dinner with the fam, which is also designed by me. I like to try different things,
so i decided why not go for a more androgynous look with the high neck collar bib and tie
But i still kept it feminine with my NARS velvet-matte lip pencil and red bow wedges by Qupid
Hope everyone is enjoying their memorial day weekend.
xoxo!!
