Proenza Schouler Fall 2012

Dear Diary,

The duo have done it again! Proenza Schouler happen to be one of my favorite  designers, and they certainly did not disappoint at Fall Fashion week. Their boxy silhouettes, chunky zipper details, and asymmetrical leather shoulder ties were everything! Remember when everyone had to have a member’s only jacket in the 80s? That is how I feel about this collection, it has a cool girl feel to it that makes me want to wear every single look. Proenza Schouler keep evolving as designers, and it’s extremely inspiring to see two young gentlemen making their mark in the game.

Word Of Advice

Dear Diary,

Strolling on Melrose Ave, I came across this sage quote in front of an antique furniture store on the corner of Highland and Willoughby.

“If you go home with somebody and they don’t have books, don’t fxck ’em!”  LOL!! John Waters ( filmmaker and actor from the 70s) is a total GENIUS for that statement. Reading books to me expand your thought process. It allows you to function in society, learn about other cultures, and to grow creatively. If this isn’t the best Val’s day present, I don’t know what is. Happy Valentine’s day to all my readers!! ^_^

Day 1: In Ghana

Dear Diary,

It was my 1st night in the motherland, and I was pretty psyched to debut this outfit! Believe it or not, I felt extremely sexy in the necktie and button down combo, even  with the masculine touch it had.

I refuse to take the matchy-matchy approach when pairing a shirt with the black/white contrast pants. It would have been quite boring or bartender-like.

EXPRESS men’s shirt and necktie, H&M pants, MELROSE envelope clutch and pumps, SEPHORA ROUGE R23  lipstick.

Ghana Through My Lens

Dear Diary,

My sincere apologies to all my readers. I have truly been slacking with the updates.I went on vaca to Ghana, located in West Africa. You can say I was having too much of a blast to remember I had blogging responsibilities *covers face*. Here are a few random shots i took on the go. Enjoy!!

Happy Turkey Day

Dear Diary,

My family came over for thanksgiving. Instead of basting a turkey, we went out to eat this year.

I celebrated in a silk Houndstooth blouse and leather high waist shorts which were both vintage.
The patent belt was from American Apparel and I used a NARS lip pencil in Bolero.

I have developed an obsession for tights this fall/winter season. They were purchased at Urban Outfitters, and the wedges are by Steve Madden.
Hope you are all having an awesome weekend with your loved ones :).

Versace for H&M

Dear Diary,

Donatella Versace launched her long awaited line,Versace for H&M, four days ago in stores all across the globe. I arrived at 6am, and still managed to get all the stuff I wanted.
You are probably wondering why a person would line up just to buy clothing?  Well, there is a method to this madness. If you are a huge fan of print, bright hues, and quintessential pieces then you were definitely in the right place! I’m all for daring pieces that can be paired with other items to make them practical. And when buying statement clothing, I make a conscious effort to buy “separates”.  Even if someone may have the same pair of pants as you, his/her complete outfit would not be tantamount to yours. Not to forget, the price points of the pieces I bought were also very satisfying to my pockets!LOL

Below are the things i bought:

You can never go wrong with a pair of leggings. They have a resort feel to them, which  I love! ($29.95).

This soft jersey t-shirt is from the men’s collection. The turquoise background with the leopard print and enormous gold detail gives it a rock and urban streak ($24.95).

A scarf to me is a closet essential ($34.95).

I love stacking up on statement jewelry like this emblem choker. They come in handy when you want to give your outfit an edge ($39.95).

Hope everyone has a lovely turkey day tomorrow, i know i will ;D.

Citrus Print Part II

Dear Diary,

Oh yes i did! The citrus printed blouse from my previous post has been transformed  into a skirt. It was quite the struggle to get it past my shoulders down to my waist, but that did not stop me from making my vision come to life.

My ribbed leggings, beanie, and the buckled booties adds more of a street edge. I completed my look with a viscose tunic to give it that chic factor it was lacking. This might not be your everyday attire, but i think the end result was pretty successful no?
  Happy Thursday everyone.
xoxo!!
