Dear Diary,

Experimenting with the achromatic scheme is not commonly seen in my wardrobe. However, I woke up feeling both minimal and masculine for work. I instantly thought..All black top and bottom, a white accent, and reflectors.

Speaking of reflectors, how crazy are these Del Toro slippers?  They are handmade, and extremely comfortable.  Showstoppers of my entire look.  It almost seemed as if I had just just stepped out of  Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” video from the 80s , except in this case my shoes lit up, rather than the square tiles on the ground.  Magic maybe? Did I mention that, I also cringe when people step on them?  I am highly convinced they are out to sabotage my glow, so I try to stand as far away as I can from anyone who intends to get too close.

Dear Diary,

Behold… The Mandals (as the fashion world likes to call them). Initially purchased for an early summer getaway to celebrate my sister’s birthday in Jamaica…Yeahh…Never wore them. I spent all trip in my adidas slides and menorquinas instead. Oh, and walking around the resort barefoot, haha. Back to these fine babies, wearing masculine accessories and clothing , are second nature to me.  I mean, women have more options, but men are the most comfortable.

Dear Diary,

I finally got to wear my Zebra sandals by Loza Maleombho, yes!  I purchased them last year for 60 % off! In one size bigger than my actual shoe size, haha. Dear Diary,

Bloomingdale’s Summer Fashion  Smash at the Westfield’s Century City mall was a success. It was showcasing the latest summer trends in women’s fashion.  Featuring designers like Theory, Clover Canyon, Diane von Furstenberg , and they  were all available for purchase! Lovely presentation,  Jennifer Chan , and  Jennifer Grace  also did a great job hosting.

Dear Diary,

I attended a 2014  Spring/Summer  press preview hosted by The Avenue West , at the Eveleigh Restaurant.  What better way for a group of ladies to bond than over brunch, and lovely accessories?  I had an amazing time, and got to take some goodies home with me.

Dear Diary,

Taking it back, to when I did not have to worry about fluffing my hair with a pick comb, curling  in the a.m, or wearing a shower cap when I took a bath. Those were the good old days.  The photos were taken by a Ghanaian based photographer and Editor,  Allen Coleman.  It was very fun working with Allen,  mainly because, there was no pre-planning or any clear vision behind the shoot. We  winged it, and realized that there was an unintentional 50s inspired theme on our hands with my wardrobe and side part low cut. Coming to think of it, my mother did spot a hair style like this back in the day. I will be sure to share, as soon as I’m able to dig it up from the photo archives.

Summer is here, and the heat in Los Angeles is NOT for the weak.  Hence, the return of my afro. I can finally  feel the breeze on my neck again.

Dear Diary,

I celebrated my birthday last week,  woop woop! When it’s over planned, a birthday can be one of the most hectic anniversaries for a woman, but you just have to take the day as it comes, and be thankful to be alive. That is one of the most important gifts of all.  The evening before my special day , I went on an outfit hunt with a clear head.  I had no idea what I was looking for.  I came across a  circle dress  that I could not keep my eyes off  at h&m . The usage of lace  reminded me of  a Valentino Resort 2013  piece, with a cheaper price tag.  It was so simple and chic, but the asymmetrical bottom and lemon color gave it the “umph”  I needed.
